A new study of spending habits carried out by the data company
Experian revealed last week that those with disposable income are
the most likely to take advantage of the discounts
and promotions that retailers and restaurants have
offered in the last 18 months.
These deals are largely only available to customers who have
access to the internet, and the report said that
it is the middle class consumers who are most 'savvy' at finding
the deals online.
Although some of these deals and discounts are easier to find,
but are still only available online. In fact, some websites collate
all online voucher deals into one portal where consumers can go to
one homepage and search for their favourite shop or restaurant. (www.moneysavingexpert.com)
Experian calculated that 7.1 million more middle classes have
used a voucher or an online promotional code than the working
classes - primarily because they are the most experienced when it
comes to using the internet. It said that 70 per cent of ABC1
consumers, a classification that covers white-collar workers, have
used money-off vouchers in the last six months, equating to 19.8
million adults.
It is evident from these statistics that shoppers are willing to
go to great lengths to find bargains, and it seems the easiest way
of doing so is by finding the deals online.
Ukash, the international online cash payment solution, offers
those who do not have bank accounts or credit cards to take
advantage of online promotions, by allowing them to spend cash
online.
