What is Ukash?

Ukash is designed to enable you to use your banknotes and coins to pay or send money on the internet. You don't need a bank account or credit card to use Ukash. You simply need to have some cash!

ThreeStep

Why would I need that?

Our customers tell us that they use Ukash for many different reasons. Some don't like using their bank or credit cards online. Others may not have access to a bank account. Still more like the control that Ukash gives them, as you can only spend up to the value of your Ukash voucher.

Whatever your reason, you can get and use your Ukash without providing us with any financial information. So you stay private when you are using your money online. Read on for more information on how it works.

How does it work?

Ukash is very simple.

Step 1: Get a Ukash voucher

voucher

To enable you to use your cash online, you need a Ukash voucher. Each voucher is worth the amount of money you use to get it - there are no extra fees. So, if you want Ukash voucher for £50 you simply visit your nearest store, hand over £50 and receive a Ukash voucher worth that amount. Simple!

Step 2: Decide where to use it

spend

A Ukash voucher can be used in many different ways. The voucher value can be spent online to buy goods and services on the thousands of websites where Ukash is accepted. Or it can be used to load value into your favourite e-wallet or prepaid card, including our own Ukash NEO card, to enable you to spend money wherever MasterCard® is accepted.

And you can even send the Ukash voucher value to friends and family overseas.

Whatever you decide to do, be sure to only use your voucher at our listed partner sites. Check our security tips for more do's and don'ts.

Step 3: Use the voucher

So, you have decided where you want to use your Ukash voucher. Now you need to visit the payment page and, where necessary, choose the 'Ukash' option from the list of payment methods.

Then you simply type in the 19 digit voucher code and the voucher value. If you are using the full value of the voucher then that's it!

If you are using only some of the voucher value then you will be given a new Ukash 'change' voucher with a new voucher code which can then be used in exactly the same way. This may be emailed, SMS'd or presented on the screen, depending on the website you are visiting.
