online this Christmas, up 6 percent on 2008, a survey conducted by

But a lack of trust in the security of the online channel,
coupled with concerns regarding online identity theft means that
European customers are about to spend less than a third of their
total Christmas budget online over the festive period.
UK customers will spend 32 pence in every pound, the French 30
cents in every Euro, the Germans 30 cents in every Euro, and the
Swedes 21 öre in every krona online.
Ukash, an alternative payment method that enables consumers to
shop, pay and play online using cash, could be the answer for the
22 percent of British consumers who will avoid online shopping as a
result of concerns about becoming victims of online identity theft
and fraud.
The survey also indicated that 14 percent wouldn't shop online
because they do not trust e-commerce sites. As no bank details are
required to use Ukash, customers can be assured that their
purchases are completely safe, secure and anonymous, and they are
fully protected from cyber criminals.
