PayU SafeShop payment gateway now accepts cash-based online
payment method, Ukash.
PayU Payment Solutions, a leading South African online payment
service provider, today announced a partnership that enables online
businesses to accept Ukash as an additional cash-based online payment
method.
"Customers who do not have credit cards want to enjoy the
cost-savings and convenience of shopping online. Our partnership
with Ukash enables online
businesses to service cash customers who previously could not be
reached, as well as open up a whole new market for these
businesses," says Mark Chirnside, CEO PayU MEA.
PayU SafeShop, an established payment processing product that
has developed and shaped e-commerce in South Africa for the past
decade, now enables online businesses to securely accept and
process 11 different payment methods, including Ukash. Online merchants
can enable Ukash payments on their Web sites by requesting
PayU to enable the capability for their shopping basket.
David Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Ukash, said:
"Partnering with PayU was a natural choice for us. By integrating
with SafeShop payment gateway, we can now offer our customers
access to most of the major South African airlines and leading
online retailers, and empower everyone to use cash
electronically."
Globally, Ukash
is active in more than 50 countries. Ukash customers can redeem
vouchers at 25 South African online retailers directly, including
iBurst, Ladbrokes, Flowers.co.za, Interactive Sports, ClickBay,
Smokoo, Yarona Healthcare and others.
